Jean Ronald Bazile was born on January 22, 1965, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Anne Benjamin and Louis Bazile. He was the only son among seven sisters and was deeply loved by his family.
From an early age, he displayed resilience, integrity, ingenuity, intelligence, and a strong sense of responsibility—qualities that would shape his life and define his legacy.
Jean was known for his creativity and leadership and witty inventions. Academically gifted, he excelled in school and was affectionately nicknamed “the human calculator.” After giving his life to Christ, he became a passionate evangelist—teaching Sunday school, leading revivals, and boldly sharing his faith.
In the 1990s, Jean immigrated to the United States, while maintaining a deep love for Haiti. Determined and focused, he enrolled at Essex County College, where he earned his associate degree in chemistry. His love for education left a lasting impact—his children would later follow in his footsteps, his daughter Meroline earning her PhD in Chemistry, Rexella earning her MPH in Epidemiology as well as Zachary earning his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. During this time, he also supported and guided his siblings as they adjusted to life in a new country.
For 28 years, Jean faithfully served as an employee of the United States Postal Service. He was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and steady presence. Colleagues remember him as dependable and always willing to lend a helping hand. His commitment to service reflected the values he carried in every area of his life.
Above all, Jean was a devoted father, family man, and friend. He took great pride in providing for his family and offering steady guidance and quiet strength. He valued honesty, perseverance, and loyalty—principles he modeled daily. Though he was quick to correct and offer advice, he did so with wisdom, a loving passion and kindness. He was lovingly known as Daddy, Daddyo, Frè Ronald, and “My Princess.”
Jean enjoyed learning new languages and exploring new subjects. He loved watching game shows, telling corny dad jokes, shopping with his family, reluctantly trying new foods, reminiscing about old stories, watching Haitian political commentary, playing dominoes, and sipping ginger ale. He often playfully debated NBA games with his son—cheering faithfully for the Golden State Warriors. He found deep joy in family gatherings and outings. His presence was grounding, his wisdom practical, and his love unwavering.
